Mighty 8th Welcomes Honors Mentorship Student
Posted by: Mighty 8th Media

Hello! My name is Rachel McGuire and I am a senior at Flowery Branch High School. I am heavily involved with my church and love to spend time with my friends. Since I was in middle school, I have had a passion for design and media. This year, I’ve gotten an awesome opportunity to participate in an Honors Mentorship program, designed to allow students to get out of the classroom and into a career mentorship of interest.

Because my interest is in design and media, Mighty 8th Media extended me an invitation to join the team at The Hangar, with open arms, to make this dream a reality. I am so grateful for this internship and truly enjoy the people here at Mighty 8th! I am really excited about the months ahead, and to be able to learn from the experts in this field.

Since I joined the team, I have had the opportunity to work on several projects for various clients, such as creating graphic designs for social media, update and edit business cards, a newsletter, and my favorite, create my first logo design! These projects have improved my design skills and helped me learn how to interact with clients and my team. With such a great atmosphere, it’s cool to observe how everyone works with each other, kind of like a big family who works together to get the job done.

My goal for this year is to become saturated in the design industry and become better at what I love doing. Hopefully this internship will give me a better picture of what I want to do in the future and what type of career to pursue. Also, I hope that I can be of service to the people I work with at The Hangar. This opportunity that Mighty 8th has given me is invaluable, and I am so glad to be working here. I’m ready to help them make history!
