Mighty 8th Book Cover Design Wins Recognition
Posted by: Gordon McMahan

Our book cover design for Leading With Honor, the true story of leadership lessons learned by a veteran that spent years in the Hanoi Hilton during the Vietnam war, continues to receive extensive media attention and has garnered several book design awards.  Kevin Moss, Senior Graphic Designer at Mighty 8th Media, created the ingenious design concept and actually photographed his own foot for the cover!

We are thrilled to announce that the book cover has been named as a Winner for Book Cover Design in the Non-Fiction Category by the Indie Excellence Awards. The Indie Excellence Awards are reserved for the “best of the best” in books published in various genres. The criteria for recognition are stringent and include overall excellence in presentation. This award celebrates the highest achievements in independent press and self-publishing, a sector of the industry that has grown exponentially in recent years. An official press release is forth-coming, and the award winners will be promoted at the 2012 BEA Book Expo in NYC.

The book was also a finalist in the Best Non-Fiction Cover Design at the 2012 International Book Awards, which represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the world.

Additionally, the book and it’s heroic author, Lee Ellis, were recently featured on the NBC affiiliate in Charleston, SC.

The interviewer commented on how the cover has such an impact and grabs you right away, and we are excited to hear so many positive and affirming comments about our design and this fantastic book.

On the heels of Memorial Day, we are honored to be a part of this true hero’s journey in telling his story and sharing lessons learned over a lifetime.
