“I love being on a computer and making things happen.”

Michael’s dad, a business owner who worked from home, first got Michael hooked on computers at a very early age. They would hang out together, his dad working while Michael trained his brain for tech with every Sim City or tycoon game available. Then, in high school, his band needed a website so Michael taught himself HTML and developed website for the group. (It was very punk rock.)

He went on to study web design and development in college and has since become the hangar’s de facto WordPress expert and master LAMP developer. After searching for local marketing shops, Michael emailed Mighty 8th on a whim. As luck would have it, the developer was out of town and within 10 minutes he had a quick-fix project that’s grown into a six year career — talk about great timing!

Michael’s self-teaching mindset and constant curiosity also pushed him to complete his favorite work to date. In March 2014 he launched Special Bridge, an online social community developed specifically for special needs people. This passion project started out as a simple tool to help people with disabilities connect by eliminating the risk of bullying or judgement. Now supporting hundreds of users, the site was immediately met with positive feedback and has received national media attention.
