Helping our Community.
October 3rd, 2008 - by GordonWhile our nation keeps an eye on the economy and determines the best way to move towards stability, many of the less fortunate members of our community are facing truly tough times right now. When families have trouble making ends meet and need help with basic needs, fortunately there are organizations such as the North Gwinnett Co-Op to bridge the gap. These organizations have recently seen a significant surge in requests for assistance, and Spitfire wanted to do its part to help meet the increased demand for food.

We provided brown bags to all the businesses along Main Street in Downtown Buford, and encouraged them to fill them with canned food and dry goods this week. Through our combined efforts, we were able to deliver a full trunk-load of groceries to the North Gwinnett Co-op this morning.

It’s heartening to know that many food donations and financial contributions are made around the Holiday season, but please know that Co-Ops throughout our area and the nation are in urgent need of food and assistance now. By sharing our blessings with those that are less fortunate, we can all do our part to help.
